In the Shadows by OrestesGraphics In the Shadows by OrestesGraphics
Done this back in 2007 using my product the Cistern at Daz3d. Rendered in Carrara, Only one light in the scene! Oh the power of global illumination. lol

The dripping water is a very nice addition and, although it may sound arrogant, a decisive element. It brings tension to the picture.

What you say is really meaningful. I made a set of photoshop brushes specifically for that effect in this image. As you said, its a very small element, but it effects the overall image. Thanks for your words!

This is stunning!!
And inspiring. I really need to learn to use Carrara properly. I have C6 Pro, but mostly make cute little landscapes...

I wish I could have gotten my version of Carrara to do this!! What version was it you were using? I suck at setting up lights and you did this with one... :cries:

I can't remember anymore, this was done a few years back. Likely Carrara 5 or 6 Pro. A single spotlight over the 'well' looking down. Indirect lighting was checked on under the render pane.

Carrara was nice to work with, then I started having problems with textures not transferring properly and I slowly drifted away from using it.

Yeah, that's a pain in the butt having to fix materials. I only use it for effects like this, which it's hard to beat. ::):
